Terms of service

Terms of Service

These terms apply to every order placed through www.yumihome.co.uk. Please read them before you buy. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Who we are

This website is operated by yumiHome LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15191661, with its registered office at 27 Smestow St, Wolverhampton WV10 9AB. Our VAT registration number is 495800659.

You can reach us by email at support@yumihome.co.uk or by telephone on 0161 399 1792, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm.

Placing an order

Adding items to your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy, not a completed contract. A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation. If we cannot fulfil your order — because an item is out of stock, because a price or description was wrong, or because we cannot deliver to your address — we will contact you and offer an alternative or a full refund.

This website does not represent a formal offer for sale. Product availability cannot be guaranteed at the moment of ordering.

Pricing and VAT

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate. Delivery is charged separately unless your order qualifies for free delivery, and any delivery charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

We take care to price accurately. If we discover a genuine error in the price of something you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of continuing at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.

Products sold by the square metre and by the board

Carpet and artificial grass are cut to length from a roll of fixed width. Composite decking and cladding are sold as whole boards. The calculator on each product page works out the quantity you need from the measurements you enter, and shows that quantity before you add anything to your basket.

The measurements you enter are your responsibility. We recommend measuring at the widest point of the room, including doorways and alcoves, and rounding up. We do not add any allowance for cuts and offcuts automatically — where an allowance is offered, you choose whether to apply it, and the figure is shown to you before you commit.

Because these goods are cut to your specification, they are treated as bespoke. See "Cancelling and returning" below.

Samples

Samples are supplied free of charge, with £2.99 postage, to addresses in the United Kingdom. We send up to five samples per order. Samples are indicative: colour, pile and finish can vary between production batches, and screen colours vary between devices. We cannot accept a return on the basis of a variation between a sample and a delivered batch.

We may decline or limit sample requests where we reasonably believe the service is being misused.

Delivery

Orders placed before 2pm are dispatched the same working day. Delivery is typically 2 to 4 working days to mainland UK, and 5 to 14 working days to the Scottish Highlands, offshore addresses and Northern Ireland. Delivery is free on orders over £190. Named-day, next-day and Saturday upgrades are available at the rates shown at checkout.

Delivery timescales are estimates and are not guaranteed. Please do not book a fitter until your order has arrived and been checked.

You are responsible for making sure the delivery address is accessible. Long rolls and palletised goods are delivered by a large vehicle and cannot always reach narrow lanes, restricted-access streets or properties without a suitable frontage. If a delivery fails because nobody is available or because access is unsuitable, a redelivery charge of up to £40 applies.

Please inspect all goods on delivery and report any damage or shortage before installation.

Cancelling and returning

You may return an order within 30 days of delivery, in its original condition and packaging where possible. Because flooring is cut to your requirements, returns of cut goods are subject to a 24% restocking fee. Return carriage is at your cost unless the item is faulty or was sent in error.

To arrange a return you must contact us first, by email at support@yumihome.co.uk or by phone on 0161 399 1792. We will arrange collection or give you return instructions at that point. Please do not send anything back before speaking to us — we cannot accept unannounced returns, and we cannot be responsible for goods sent to us without a return arranged.

Full details, including faulty and incorrectly supplied goods, are in our Returns Policy.

Installation

Our installation guides and product specifications are given in good faith as general guidance. Installation is your responsibility, and we are not liable for costs or damage arising from incorrect installation, unsuitable sub-base preparation, or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Where a guide specifies joist centres, expansion gaps or ground preparation, those figures must be followed.

Our liability

Our liability in connection with any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for installation costs, third-party costs, or consequential loss. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We are not liable for natural variation between production batches, including colour variation, or for changes in appearance caused by normal wear, weathering or maintenance.

Your account

If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity carried out under it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us at support@yumihome.co.uk or on 0161 399 1792 and we will try to put it right. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
