Order Carpet Samples

Not sure which carpet suits your room? Order free carpet samples and compare colours, textures, and pile in your own lighting — every sample is £0.00 with UK dispatch. Add up to 5 samples per order and choose with confidence before you buy full rolls.

Guides: Twist or Saxony: which carpet to choose

Every carpet we sell is available as a free sample: twist and Saxony, felt backed and action backed, 8mm to 16mm, in more than fifty colours. Postage is £2.99 and they arrive in 2 to 4 working days. Hold each sample against the skirting in daylight, then again at night under the lamps you actually use, because carpet colour shifts more between shop and home than almost any other material. Walk on it too; you will feel the difference between twist and Saxony straight away.

The twist or Saxony guide says which pile suits each room, the grey guide and taupe guide sort the colours people find hardest, and the room calculator prices the cut from a 4m or 5m roll. Order three samples a shade apart rather than three that look the same.

Frequently asked questions

Are carpet samples free?

Yes. Samples are free and postage is £2.99 for the order, up to five samples. They are cut from current stock, so the shade is the one that arrives on the roll.

How should I compare them?

On the floor of the room, in daylight and in lamplight, next to the skirting, the paint and the furniture. A carpet reads much darker on a floor than on a screen.

Can I return a carpet cut to size?

Carpet is cut to your measurements, so a 24% restocking fee applies unless it is faulty. That is why we send samples first and cut only when you are sure.
