Frequently asked questions

Does it need sanding, staining or sealing?

No. A wash down is the whole job.

Which side faces up?

Either. Every board is reversible, with woodgrain on one face and a grooved finish on the other.

What size are the boards?

Every board is 150mm wide and 25mm deep. Lengths are 2.9m, 3.6m and 4.8m.

Do I need a subframe?

Yes, always. Timber, metal or composite, with joists no more than 350mm apart and a 40mm gap underneath for airflow.

Will the colour change?

Expect a slight fade back over the first three months as the wood tannins weather. After that it barely moves.

How much gap do I leave between boards?

It depends on the temperature on the day you fit it. Our installation guide has the exact figures.
