Buy Black Composite Cladding
Key facts. One black finish, properly dark out of the pack and settling to a deep charcoal over the first summer. Boards are 3.6m long by 157mm wide, £25 each including VAT, about 1.8 boards and £44 per square metre of wall. Embossed woodgrain face, fixed to a batten frame, no painting or treating, ten-year warranty. Free samples, free delivery over £190, delivered in 2 to 4 working days.
Black cladding is the look of the modern garden room: a dark box that makes planting and lawn look greener and lets pale window frames or a timber door stand out. It is also the finish that makes a plain shed disappear into a fence line. Composite black does what painted timber cannot: it stays black without a repaint every two years, does not crack or rot, and is wiped down with a brush and soapy water. It shows pale dust sooner than grey, so it suits a wall that gets rinsed with the hose each spring.
A 2.4m by 3m wall is about 13 boards, £325 delivered free. Pair it with black composite decking for a matching deck, or with grey decking for a two-tone look. Order the free sample and hold it against the fence and the house before you commit; black against red brick and black against render are two different buildings.
